In a surprising move, Taj Hotels has announced two significant updates to its popular dining program, Taj Epicure. The program, known for its dining discounts and exclusive perks, has undergone a steep price increase and at the same time, introduced complimentary Elite status for its members.
Taj Epicure price increase
The price of Taj Epicure Privileged membership has skyrocketed to INR 50,000 plus taxes, while the new price for Epicure Preferred membership is now INR 25,000 plus taxes. These prices reflect a massive increase from the previous rates of Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 17,500 respectively.
New Benefits
The headline change is upgrade to Silver tier for Epicure Preferred members, and Gold tier for Epicure Privileged.
You also get one additional Spa and dining voucher.
Here’s the list of all the perks Epicure membership comes with.
Not all properties accept Taj Epicure
it’s important to note that not all properties participate in the Epicure program.
- No benefits are applicable at Taj Wellington Mews, Mumbai
- Following Taj restaurants are not participating:
- Wasabi by Morimoto
- Orient Express
- The 101 Dining Hall at Taj Falaknuma Palace
- Bhairo at Taj Lake Palace
- No third-party restaurants participate in this program. Even if they are on the premises of a participating hotel.

One should always call the property and confirm beforehand if you are planning to use Epicure at any property. Better than last-minute surprises.
Bottom line
This price increase is quite steep. Members were able to book some super premium properties with stay vouchers earlier. Now, using complimentary stay vouchers only at those select premium properties would justify taking this membership.
When it comes to elite benefits, apart from higher points earning, there is hardly anything to look forward to as a Silver or Gold member. Taj has never been serious about their loyalty program. And that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon.
