IHG One Rewards just introduced an excellent feature that may make connecting to Wi-Fi a much simpler process than what it is currently.
IHG’s Wi-Fi Auto-Connect feature is available in the IHG One Rewards mobile app for both iOS and Android. Once enabled, it will automatically connect IHG One Rewards members to Wi-Fi upon arrival at more than 5,000 IHG hotels worldwide – no separate passwords or logins needed!
Since the feature is available for iOS and Android apps, it should be good for use with all mobile phones, tablets, and iPads that have the IHG app available. We still have to test it, though.
How to enable IHG Wi-Fi Auto-Connect?
To activate IHG’s Wi-Fi Auto-Connect, you need to update your IHG App first. If you don’t have the IHG app installed yet, you can download it here.
Once you are logged in, go to the ‘Account’ section, scroll down right until the end, and click on ‘My Profile’.
In the ‘My Profile’ section, you should see the Wi-Fi Auto connect option. You have to agree to the terms, click on Activate, and it’s done.

Works even when you are not staying at the hotel.
One of the most appealing aspects of this particular feature is that it operates independently of any reservations you may have made. Simply by being within the vicinity of an IHG hotel that has implemented this functionality, you will be instantly connected to their Wi-Fi network – requiring no additional steps or interventions on your part.
This feature offers a considerable degree of convenience and utility, as it allows for seamless connectivity while engaging in a variety of activities- whether dining at a restaurant, requiring access to important documents before check-in, or attending an event held at an IHG property.

IHG now allows guests to auto-connect to Wi-Fi networks of participating hotels. Auto-connecting to a hotel’s Wi-Fi can be incredibly useful. I recommend enabling it on your phone right away, and you will have one less thing to take care of on your next vacation.
