Thailand has announced the removal of visa requirements for tourists from India and Taiwan, following careful consideration of the proposal for some time.

Travelers from these countries will now be able to enjoy visa-free entry for up to 30 days, eliminating the need to wait in lengthy visa-on-arrival queues.

Effective from November 10th, 2023 until May 10th, 2024, this initial waiver period may be extended in the future.

This decision follows a successful program granting visa-free entry to Chinese nationals earlier this year.

With Thailand being a popular international destination for Indians due to its proximity and convenient visa process, this move is expected to further boost tourism between the two countries.

Likewise, India has long been a significant contributor to Thailand’s tourism industry. And this move will help further increase the footfalls and revenue from India.

As per a report in Reuters, India has been Thailand’s fourth-largest source market for tourism so far this year with about 1.2 million arrivals after Malaysia, China, and South Korea.
